Locker Renovation
We’re thrilled to announce that after 17 years of use, we will be removing all metal lockers from the Men’s, Women’s, and Inclusive Locker Rooms and replacing them with larger, modern, rust-resistant phenolic lockers and benches! Our standard Z-Tier lockers will measure 15” wide compared to our current 12” wide lockers, and the Z-Tier shape will allow for more space for taller items and hanging garments. Premium 18” wide lockers will also be available for rental. This photo showcases a project with the same shape and finish of the lockers we will be installing in our locker rooms. In addition to new lockers within our 3 locker rooms, we will be replacing the Day Use Lockers on the 1st floor near the MAC Gym and opening a brand new Day Use Locker bay on our 2nd floor near Cardio Row!
Locker Room Closures
As a result of the Locker Renovation Project, there will be multiple locker room closures from July 31 – September 26. All belongings should be cleared from lockers by July 31, 2023. This includes the Men’s Locker Room, and the Inclusive Locker Room.
Men’s Locker Room
There will be no access to lockers within the men’s locker room from 8/1 to the week of 9/26. All belongings should be cleared from lockers by July 31st. There will be access to the PE locker rooms for showering and restroom use throughout the project completion. After our Shutdown week (8/7 – 8/13), there will be access to the recreation center locker room for showering and restroom use only. Lockers will still be unavailable at this time as we will be in the process of installing them. Restrooms are available for use throughout the facility and are located on the first floor by the Shine Well Studio and on the second floor. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Will I still be assigned the same locker, in the same location as before?
Locker users will not have the same locker number or combination as before, but we will do our best to assign lockers in a similar location near your current locker.
Will I get any sort of refund for the time I won’t have access to my locker?
All monthly payments for lockers will be on hold for the time you will not have access to your locker. We will not charge you for the month of August while the lockers are being installed. Those who have paid in full already will have their rental extended for the time they did not have access to their locker.
Am I able to put my membership on hold as well during the time the lockers are closed?
Yes, members will always have the option to put their membership on hold. Please contact Cam Johnson at c.johnson82@csuohio.edu to discuss putting your membership on hold.
Main Court Repair & Refinishing
Beginning Tuesday August 1, 2023 we will be closing the Main Gym Courts in order to sand the floor down to bare wood, repair existing dead spots, and refinish the floor. This type of work is necessary every 8-10 years to extend the life of maple floors, and we’re excited to use this upcoming Shutdown to complete this project. We can’t wait for you to see the finished product, and below is a sneak peek to what we have in store! Our goal is to re-open the Main Gym on Wednesday, August 23 but keep an eye on our website and social media for the most up-to-date information regarding this court closure!
