SilverSneakers®
SilverSneakers® is the nation’s leading exercise program designed exclusively for older adults and is available at no additional cost (beyond any monthly premium) to eligible Medicare health plan and group retiree members. Research points to the significant health benefits of regular exercise for older adults. In addition to helping members stay physically healthy, SilverSneakers® also offers a great way to socialize, meet new friends and have fun.
Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned pro ready for the next challenge, SilverSneakers® offers a variety of options for all fitness levels and abilities. SilverSneakers gives you access to equipment and classes. SilverSneakers® members at the CSU Rec are able to attend group fitness classes at no additional charge, they have full use of our handi-accessible, 110,000 sq. ft. facility, and use of the Busbey Natatorium pool.
How Does SilverSneakers® Work?
SilverSneakers® is offered to Medicare-eligible and group retiree members of participating health plans. Eligible SilverSneakers® members receive a basic membership to the Recreation Center at no additional cost. Call the number on your health plan ID to learn more, or go to www.silversneakers.com to verify your eligibility and register for SilverSneakers®. Don’t forget to bring your SilverSneakers® card or personal member ID number with you when you come to the Rec!
Tivity Health Prime® Fitness
Tivity Health Prime® Fitness is a corporate wellness program offered to employees by their employer. This program addresses the most common barriers to exercise – convenience and access – and provides tools and trackers to help engage participants in their fitness plans. Healthways Prime Fitness programs gives you access to a robust network of national, regional and local fitness and recreation centers, making it easy for you to get and stay active.
Tivity Health Prime® Fitness members have a basic membership to the CSU Rec Center at no additional costs. Membership privileges include all amenities, programs, and services associated with a basic membership. At Cleveland State University Campus Recreation Services, all members will have free access to all free group fitness classes, use of the entire facility, and use of the Busbey Natatorium.
