The Initiatives of Shine Well
On October 7th, 2022, Cleveland State University’s eighth President, Dr. Laura Bloomberg announced her new initiative for the University: Living Well Together, On Our Campus, In Our City. Within Dr. Bloomberg’s investiture, she announced the inclusion of our Shine Well program as part of her wellness initiative on campus:
“We will advance our essential work with an ignited passion for the wellbeing of the people and the communities we serve. When our relentless pursuit of learning and the creation of new knowledge is angled toward our collective wellbeing on our campus, in our beautiful city full of strong partners and allies, and surrounded by remarkable economic, civic and natural resources.
We draw ever closer to achieving emotional, physical, environmental, social, and spiritual wellbeing for all of us.”

Cleveland monsters versus chicago wolves hockey game
Calling all hockey fans! Join The City is Our Campus at the January 23rd Cleveland Monsters game! CSU students can get one free ticket to sit center ice on a first-come first-serve basis. The game is Thursday, January 23rd at 7 pm versus Chicago. Meet us at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse for the game. Transportation is not provided. You must be a CSU student to receive a free ticket to this game. Go Monsters!
Register for this event by using our CSU Rec Member Connect app or our online portal. Login using your student account. If you do not know your student account, use your CSU email with your first initial and last name to reset the password. Once you are logged in, click “Programs,” then select “The City is Our Campus” as the category. “Click “Show programs,” select the “Cleveland Monsters Hockey Game 1/23/25” and register! Horticulture Tours
Want to see what types of plants we have on campus? Want to get your steps in? Want to go on a guided tour of campus with some friends or classmates? Join Tour lead, Tropical Tim for a Horticulture Tour around campus. During this walk, you will learn about different types of plants on campus led by the person who knows them best, Tim! Horticulture Tours will be scheduled based on request. Please keep in mind that these must take place before 1:00 pm if you would like to schedule a tour. Do you have a favorite part of campus?
